Gambling is a hot issue in Malaysia as we have many Muslim people. During this MCO, it is reported that online gambling such as malaysia slots are rampant. Not long after that, another one hot issue arose about illegal gambling dens at Sungai Buloh. Here is the explanation of what actually happens.
On Saturday, August 8, 42-year-old Mohd Asri Hamid uploaded a video along with a caption that reads through the Hot Burger Malaysia Facebook page, “Bismillah, I might get killed for exposing this and if I do, I hope you all know who did it.”
He then added, “Let me show you how biased the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is, you can judge the integrity of the MBSA chief, Sungai Buloh. He also points out many hawker stalls that breach general MBSA regulations including those that block car parks and highways.
Asri then proceeds to steer viewers to other premises that are considered to be gambling dens. He said he had lodged previous complaints against them but then the kingpins threatened his employees. Asri had conducted several live Facebook sessions, and were viewed more than three million times. Within them, he also alleged that police are in cahoots with illegal gambling syndicates, and that contraband cigarette smuggling is rampant in the region as well. He also lamented the Shah Alam City Council’s unjust treatment, which confiscated his burger stall.
On the other hand, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin says that there will be stern action against those involved in the suspected gambling dens in Sungai Buloh. Sungai Buloh Police and the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had, however, filed complaints against Mohd Asri, saying the charges were baseless.
Hamzah said the Sungai Buloh police would work closely with local authorities to rid the city of any gambling dens. “We will work on the matter with local authorities because they grant business licenses and not the police,” he said. This includes taking action against foreigners who said they were involved in the illegal activity, Hamzah said.
Meanwhile, Hamzah said a police complaint was lodged against Mohd Asri, as the latter had made many allegations including threats to his life. He said that if he had flouted any laws as a whistle-blower, inquiries would be carried out with action against criminals, including Mohd Asri. He encouraged members of the public to submit his office reports of suspected wrongdoings, instead of publishing them on social media.
After this issue, the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and other law enforcement agencies carried out a raid at Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh.
While capturing illegal roadside stalls, the MBSA also revealed the presence of liquor stores and two premises alleged to be located next to each other to perform online gambling. Liquors held in a shop were also confiscated and detained as well as its four illegal immigrant employees.
Besides that, Shah Alam Deputy Mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan said there was also a premise believed to conduct illicit online gambling activities hidden behind a snooker center in that area.
Based on the raid the MBSA found that without its trainer, many snooker tables, chairs and sofas had been left behind. Under that assumption the online gambling operation takes place in a special space.
